My popup isn't showing on my store

If your campaign is set up but not appearing on your storefront, work through these checks in order. Most issues are resolved by step 1 or 2.

1. Check that the app embed is active

This is the most common cause. The 1ClickPopup app embed must be turned on in your Shopify theme for any campaign to display.

  1. Go to Shopify Admin → Online Store → Themes
  2. Click Customize on your current theme
  3. Open App embeds (in the left sidebar)
  4. Make sure 1ClickPopup is toggled on
  5. Click Save

Important: The app embed is per-theme. If you recently switched themes, you'll need to activate it again on the new theme.

2. Make sure the campaign is active

On the Campaigns page, check the status toggle next to your campaign. If it shows Paused, the campaign won't display on your store. Toggle it to Active.

3. Check your display rules

Your campaign's targeting settings may be preventing it from showing. Open your campaign and check the Settings tab for these common issues:

  • Device targeting is set to "Desktop only" but you're testing on your phone (or vice versa)
  • Page URL rules are excluding the page you're testing on
  • Visitor type is set to "New visitors only" - if you've visited your store before, your browser remembers you as a returning visitor
  • Schedule is set to a date range that hasn't started yet or has already ended
  • Geolocation rules are excluding your current location
  • Cart value threshold is set and your cart doesn't meet it

4. Check your display frequency settings

If you've already seen and closed the popup during testing, it may not show again due to your frequency settings:

  • Delay before showing again - if this is set to several days, the popup won't reappear until that time passes
  • Don't show again after signup - if you submitted the form during testing, the popup is now hidden for your browser
  • Visitor view limit - if you've hit the maximum number of views, the popup stops appearing

To reset for testing: Open your store in an incognito/private browser window. This clears all previous visit data so the popup treats you as a new visitor.

5. Check for competing campaigns

If you have multiple active campaigns targeting the same page, only one may display at a time. Check your other active campaigns to see if another one is taking priority.

Try pausing other campaigns temporarily to confirm whether your campaign appears on its own.

6. Check for theme conflicts

In rare cases, your Shopify theme's CSS or JavaScript can interfere with the popup rendering. If you've confirmed everything above is correct:

  1. Go to Settings in the 1ClickPopup app
  2. Change Style isolation from "Standard" to "Strict Shadow DOM"
  3. Test again on your store

Note: Strict Shadow DOM prevents theme interference but disables browser autofill on form fields. Switch back to Standard if autofill is important for your visitors.
