How to control how often visitors see your campaign
Display frequency settings control how often a visitor sees your campaign after they've already seen or interacted with it. These settings prevent the same popup from appearing on every page load.
Where to find it
- Open your campaign in the 1ClickPopup app
- Go to the Settings tab
- Scroll to Display rules → Display frequency
Delay before showing again (if closed)
When a visitor closes the campaign, it won't appear again for a set time period. You can configure the delay in days, hours, or minutes. The help text reads: "The campaign will reappear after this time delay."
A delay of 1 day is a good starting point. Too short and visitors feel pestered. Too long and you miss potential signups from visitors who weren't ready the first time.
Don't show again after signup
When enabled, a visitor who has already signed up won't see the campaign again. The help text reads: "Prevents re-displaying after successful submission." This is recommended – showing a signup popup to someone who already signed up creates a poor experience.
Limit how many times each visitor sees this campaign
Set a maximum number of times the campaign will appear for a single visitor. The help text reads: "Once a visitor sees this campaign X times, it will stop showing."
For example, if you set this to 3 times per visitor, the campaign stops appearing for that visitor after 3 views – regardless of the delay setting.
Limit total signups / unique views for this campaign
Cap the total number of signups (or unique views, for announcement campaigns) the campaign can collect. The campaign will stop showing to all visitors once the limit is reached. Note: you may receive a few extra signups or views due to processing delays (e.g., a limit of 1,000 may stop around 1,005).
Useful for limited-quantity promotions – for example, "First 100 signups get 20% off."
Why your popup might not show during testing
If you've already seen or dismissed the popup in your browser, the frequency settings above prevent it from appearing again. This is working as intended – the popup treats you the same as any other visitor.
To test as a new visitor, open your store in an incognito/private browser window. This resets all frequency tracking and treats you as a first-time visitor.
Tip: Always test your campaigns in incognito mode. Your regular browser remembers that you've already seen or dismissed the popup, and your frequency settings will prevent it from showing again.
