How to customize the reminder bar
The reminder bar is a sticky bar that appears at the top or bottom of your storefront after a visitor signs up. It displays the discount code so the visitor can easily find it while they continue shopping – no need to remember or write it down.
Where to find it
- Open your campaign and go to the Content tab
- Scroll down to the Reminder bar section
Enabling the reminder bar
- Select Show after signup to display the reminder bar after a successful form submission
- Select Don't show to hide it (default)
What you can configure
Custom text – the message displayed on the reminder bar (e.g., "Don't forget your discount!"). Rich text editor. You can use smart tags to insert dynamic values:
{{discount_code}}– displays the subscriber's discount code{{email}}– displays the subscriber's email address{{reward_name}}– displays the name of the reward won (gamified campaigns only)
Position – choose Page top or Page bottom. Top is more visible but can interfere with sticky navigation menus. Bottom is less intrusive.
Set expiration period – check this to set how long the reminder bar stays visible. Configure a value and period (Minutes, Hours, or Days). When the expiration period ends, the bar disappears automatically. If unchecked, the reminder bar stays visible until the visitor manually closes it.
Things to know
The reminder bar is styled separately. Reminder bar colors (background and text) are configured in the Styles tab under "Colors – Reminder Bar."
The reminder bar only shows after signup. It won't appear to visitors who haven't submitted the form. It's designed to help subscribers who already have a code – not to attract new signups.
Check for conflicts with your theme's sticky header. If your Shopify theme has a sticky navigation bar at the top of the page, the reminder bar set to "Page top" may overlap with it. Test on your live store and switch to "Page bottom" if there's a conflict.
The reminder bar works alongside the teaser. Both can be active at the same time – the teaser lets visitors reopen the popup, while the reminder bar keeps the discount code visible. They serve different purposes.
