How to preview your campaign on your online store

Before going live, you can preview your campaign on your store to check how it looks and behaves for visitors.

Preview from the Campaigns page

  1. Go to the Campaigns page
  2. Find your campaign and click the Actions menu (blue link)
  3. Select Preview on online store

This opens your store's homepage in a new tab with the campaign loaded, regardless of whether the campaign is Active or Paused. It's the most accurate way to check how your popup will look and behave on your actual storefront.

The campaign's triggers and targeting rules (page URL, location, language, customer status, cart value, and Klaviyo) still apply in preview. If your campaign only shows on certain pages, navigate to a matching page in the same tab. Preview stays on for the rest of that tab's session.

Embedded campaigns (Opt-in embedded and Gamified embedded) work differently. Their preview opens your store's homepage, and the form appears only where you've added the 1ClickPopup Form block, and only when the campaign is Active.

Preview inside the editor

While editing your campaign, the right side of the editor shows a live preview that updates as you make changes. Use the desktop/mobile toggle in the editor's top bar to switch between screen sizes.

The editor preview is helpful for quick checks while you're making changes, but the "Preview on online store" option shows the campaign in its real environment - with your theme, fonts, and layout - which is the better final check before going live.

The editor's top bar also has a Preview on online store button. If you have unsaved changes, it offers to save them first; if you continue without saving, the preview shows the campaign without those changes.

Tips for previewing

You don't need an incognito window for the preview link. Each time you launch a preview, display frequency for that campaign is reset, so it shows again even if you've already seen or dismissed it. An incognito/private browser window is still useful for testing the live campaign as a brand new visitor.

Check both desktop and mobile. A campaign that looks great on desktop can overflow or feel cramped on a phone. Always preview on both.

The campaign doesn't need to be Active to preview. The "Preview on online store" option works even when the campaign is Paused, so you can test without showing anything to real visitors. This doesn't apply to embedded campaigns, which only appear when Active.

Preview views count in analytics. Each time the campaign shows during a preview, it's recorded as a view.
